Since 2014, Toledo Culinary Arts School takes part in Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

With code E TOLEDO19, we are one of the firsts Spanish private centres in vocational training to be accepted in the European Programme.

According to the European Union web site, Erasmus Programme has as an objective to deal with the teaching and knowledge needs of all the students in Higher Education.

The program includes:

  • Student mobility for studies. Student mobility for studies enables students at higher education institutions to spend an integrated period of study in another participating country.
  • Student mobility for traineeships.  Student mobility for traineeships enables students at higher education institutions to spend their traineeships in an enterprise or organization in one of the Program Countries
  • Staff mobility for teach. Provides teaching opportunities for the teaching staff of higher education institutions and staff invited from enterprises
  • Staff mobility for training. Erasmus offers a great opportunity for academic and administrative staff to teach or work elsewhere in one of the participating countries in Europe.
  • Organisation of mobility. An Organisation Mobility grant will be awarded to eligible institutions providing that they have outgoing student and/or staff mobility or incoming staff from enterprise.
  • Intensive programmes. An Intensive Programme, part of the European Union’s Erasmus programme, brings together students and teaching staff from higher education institutions from different countries on short programmes of study. 
  • Intensive Language courses. Erasmus Intensive Language Courses are specialized courses in the less widely used and less taught languages of the countries participating in the programme.
  • Preparatory visits. The main objective of the action is to help higher education institutions to establish contacts with prospective partner institutions. 

Erasmus Programme is an opportunity to acquire professional and linguistic competences for our students. It is also a vital experience which guides them to live together with other cultures and ways of living. The Culinary Arts School Toledo offers to the Higher Education students the possibility of living the Erasmus experience like a part of their training process.

Belonging to the Erasmus+ Programme supposes an inflection point in the activity of the Culinary Arts School Toledo. It supposes a change and an adaptation to the moment and environment we are living. It supposes an extraordinary challenge that our organization confronts convinced of that.

  1. To increase the success levels to provide the graduates and researchers that Europe needs.
    • Improvement of the attraction capacity of clients and teachers to our centre.
    • Improvement of the organization corporate image in regards to the society which surrounds us given the prestige of the Erasmus Programme.

    • Modernization of our productives techniques coming from the foreign students who visit us or acquired thanks for the international stay of our students.
    • To improve the personal motivation of our students and staff thanks for the mobility programmes.
  1. To reinforce the quality by mobility and border cooperation.
    • It will suppose the permanent contact with education centres and companies from other countries. This will accelerate the innovation processes of our centre and the partner companies.
    • It will suppose the definitive internalization of our organization.
    • To get an enriching exchange of experiences with other centres and companies.
    • It will suppose to be in direct contact with the market of goods and services, as well as labour markets of the European Union.
  1. To make the knowledge triangle work: to connect higher education, research and companies to make easier the excellence and the regional development.
    • It will suppose an improvement in the companies of our environment where the students will do their intership, providing great added value and knowledge to the technical departments where they are placed and promoting the pro-European spirit.
    • Improvement in the language competences of the staff. This will let us start an international growth strategy, opening new business and knowledge lines.  
    • It will suppose the development of the new teaching methodologies to adapt to the new students.

    • Renovation of the management and administration departments to adapt to the new students condition.
    • We will get a better funding of our international collaboration programmes. 
    • It will be a decisive support in our international growth.

Frequently asqued questions

All the students of Toledo Culinary Arts School who are studying the Superior Grade TRaining Cycle in any speciality.
Candidate selection criteria will be based on the academic excellence and the language skills of the student.

The language knowledge is a basic element to a correct progress in the Erasmus+ experience, not only to the outbound students but also the incoming ones, in our institution and the rest of traineeships centres.
So students and teachers must fulfill minimum criteria about the linguistic knowledge of the target language. This will be B1 level for students and teachers (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages -CEFR-).
Besides our institution will teach a language course as much the outbound students and staff as the incoming students and staff which choose us as a target centre to carry out their professional traineeships. This course will teach the students a speceific vocabulary related to hospitality industry.

As you know the study plan of the Higher Education cycles are divided into three academic years, finishing with a traineeships period in real companies of the sector. This period is the objective of the Erasmus Programme in the Culinary Arts School Toledo. Therefore, the Erasmus experience will be focused in the fulfiment of the traineeships module in workplaces in hospitality companies located out of Spain or incoming students who want to to carry out their traineeships in Spanish enterprises through the Culinary arts School Toledo, in the last trimester of the academic year.

Traineeships module in workplaces is a total count of 400 school hours. It is equivalent to 20 ECTS credits which will be approved to those outbound students who go out of Spain to carry out their traineeships in European enterprises or incoming students who want to carry out their traineeships in Spanish enterprises through the Culinary arts School Toledo. This module will be carried out when the student has finished, previously, the rest of subjects, preferentially, from April to June in each academic year.

 

Erasmus Programme will be an Excellence point in our student’s curriculum. So, our student must be excellent to participate in the Erasmus Programme.

Minimun requirements to participate in the programme:

  • To carry out any of our Higher Level Training Cycles or any authorised cycle in one of the countries participating in the programme.
  • Average scored 8, 00 out of 10 in the first and second academic year. 
  • The language of the country of destination equivalent to B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. 
  • The students who are interested must fill in an application form in the established period in the previous academic year.

The most suitable students must be selected according to the available vacancies.

Every student will have a tutor into the Erasmus Programme who will help the student from the first moment of the Erasmus experience.

The selected student must study a preparatory language course.

Once the selected students finish their traineeships module in the workplace and hang over the relevant documentation to their tutor, they will be issued a 20 ECTS credits certificate and the positive resolution of the corresponding module.
